TNInvestco venture capital program set to award $120 million in tax credits
Fran Marcum wants to fund companies that develop paper light bulbs and other clean energy technologies with some of the $120 million that the state plans to dole out soon for seed money for small and startup businesses.
Christopher Rand and Brian Laden plan to use their expertise working to commercialize research from Vanderbilt University to target similar opportunities at universities statewide and nationwide and create jobs here.
For Sid Chambless, the TNInvestco program provides another opportunity to expand work of the Nashville Capital Network he runs that connects entrepreneurs with angel investors.
Investment partnerships that the three, and others, have formed are among 10 finalists for up to six infusions of at least $20 million apiece. State officials plan to award the money within two weeks.
