Tennessee Wins Race to the Top Grant
Tennessee is one of two states to win a grant in the U.S. Department of Education's Race to the Top program.
Forty states applied for part of the $4.35B grant, with only Tennessee and Delware selected in the first round to receive funds. The initiative will reward states that are pushing to raise teaching standards and improve schools.
